Does a WindowBlinds theme slow your computer down more than Aero on Vista?
I was wondering whether Aero slows down your computer more or a WindowBlinds theme.
My theory would be that Aero is basically just WindowBlinds with an Aero theme selected. So wouldn’t another theme use the same (or maybe less if it was a minimalist theme) than Aero?
I’m using Vista with a 2.0 Ghz single-core processor and 1GB ram with ReadyBoost using a 2GB USB.

Not at all. Aero is very inefficient with your system resources but WIndowsBlinds is very good at managing that sort of thing. Note that WindowsBlinds will enable you to have the Aero theme but not the effects (transparency, 3d flipping between windows and so on). For those effects, you can download tiny, very ligthweight programs which do a fantastic job of it, for example Winflip (http://winflip.stylekings.de/) and for transparent windows truetransparency (http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/en.id.5139-truetransparency-lefreut-explorer-tools.htm). Hope this helps!
