How to get a computer to recognize a wifi card?

I recently upgraded my computer to windows 7 from windowsXP. I had to reinstall every program, every card and driver in my computer, but of course I cannot seem to get my wifi card to work. The computer says simply that the card does “not exist” , I have used the cd to install the software, so why does the computer still not recognize it? Any help?

Try again stating the manufacturer and model number of the wifi card. Or add to this question. Too many unknown for someone to try to address like is the card PCI or is it PCIe or is it PCI-X.

“not exist” is not something your device manager is going to say about any PCI device. You may need to check your BIOS settings to see if you’ve turned something off or set some PCI variable that is interfering with Windows ability to identify the device.

So try resetting your BIOS settings to factory default. Then if your wifi card still doesn’t show up, repost your question with the manufacturer and model of the card. Email me if you wish.
