Why is my computer slow after a virus and how can I fix it?

I recently had a big virus, blue screen of death and everything. I’ve fixed it now but my computer has become extremely slow! Is there anyway to fix it?

First of all remove all the big files from your desktop. If your hard disk is full get some external usb hard disk and move all your movies and pictures there. Then update you antivirus and antispyware if you have one if not get one and run a full scan. After that a defragmentation is a good idea. If the problems still persist then you should use a decent registry cleaner. If you are not sure which one to use maybe you could do what I did. Visit the

They should be able to help you. I would advice you not to temper with your registry.

It might not entirely be because of the virus, here are some thing to check for:

    1) Too many programs running at start up
    2) Hard Drive is too fragmented
    3) Hard Drive is too full
    4) Registry has grown over time
    5) Spy-ware
    6) Bad Sectors on Hard drive
    7) Overheating
    8) Data Corruption

Why is your computer slow? Well let me ask you a question. When is the last time your performed general maintenance on your system? People often forget that like any other piece of equipment, your computer must be optimized and maintained in order to operate a high level. The easiest way to do this is by downloading software geared towards this task. Scan your system for free with it at:

For running slow there are many causes:
    Microsoft Registry Problems

Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
Registry Cleaner can fix your pc errors.
Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software’s, install new devices,
download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
    Clean registry make pc faster.

There is usually a limit to how fast your computer can run, it is how much is being processed, and number of processes being run.
