Do computer games make your computer slow?

I have the game “Pharaoh” on a disk and I would like to play it. The problem is that I don’t know if this will make my computer slower because it takes up memory. Any advice or opinions will help.

Thanks.

Games only make the comptuer slow if the computer is not meet the requirments to support the game.

System Requirements Lab has now added Medal of Honor: Airborne to their selection of games you can choose from. If you’re wondering whether or not Airborne will run on your PC, simply go to the site and select the game from the drop down menu. The program will analyze your system and give you a detailed breakdown on what components will be able to handle it which ones will not, if any.

It takes up hard drive space, not memory (except when you’re playing it).
Hard drive space does not affect the speed of your computer.

No it will not make your computer slower.. Only when you actually play the game.. Your computer will be a bit slower opening other things, if you got it minimized in the tray… But when you close the game again, everything will be as before.. No worries, go play it!

    No, it should not.
Your computer never gets “slow” from having things installed on your hard drive.
Your computer slows down when you run out of RAM, most likely form having too many applications running at once.
If you notice your computer is slow with very few applications running, scan your computer for spyware and make sure you don’t have more programs running at startup than you need.

    Install it and see.

you can always uninstall it if it clogs your hard drive/RAM up

Having games on your computer’s HARD DISK(which you call memory) doesn’t slow down your computer unless you have tons of files and folder and games installed on a old PC…
Memory-the term ‘memory’ refers to RAM (Random Access Memory) which is used by the game ONLY when it is running.
If you don’t run the game you don’t take up megabytes from your RAM memory.
Also..after exiting the game the part of memory which was being used by the game ,is freed up..-When you turn off your computer the data from the RAM memory is lost.
If you are talking about hard disk’s free space..then…yes ..if you have lots of games on a slow HDD(5.4K/5400RPM) it would take more time to launch a program or to simply search for something because there are more files to search between.

There are MANY reasons for computer slow downs:
    not enough memory
too many programs starting up with windows at boot up time
    too many junk files
    too many restore points

Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software’s, install new devices,
download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
    Clean registry make pc faster.
