How do I get rid of the boot up selection screen on my PC?

I installed vista a few weeks ago, even though I already have XP originally on my pc. Now i hate vista and want XP back, I have a selection screen every time i switch on my PC! Is there any way i can delete this?

Insert the XP CD. Restart the computer. Choose R (repair console) at the first prompt. Run
    fixmbr

That’ll reinstall the single boot to XP.

You have a selection screen? Did you install Vista over XP, did you install it as well as XP? (Which I think you have)

If you did do it side-by-side, then you should be able to just uninstall Vista, which would also make the selection screen go away. But why do you hate Vista? If its running slow it might be because you have XP at the same time so its taking up so much hard drive space. Uninstalling XP might help Vista.

What ever you do, make sure you back up all the stuff you want/need to keep.
