How do i know if a PC is wireless?

I am going to get a PCfor christmas, and i already have a PC Room, with a PC in it for the family.
But i want my own personal Gaming Desktop, and the only internet connection is in the computer room.
So how do i know if a PC is wireles, can you buy wireless adapters for it or something?
If so can someone tell me how much extra ill have to spend.

you can buy a wirelesss adaptor costing anything from £10 to £50

Have a look on ebay Belkin is a good make. Usb is the easiest to install.

Personally I would advise using an ethernet wire as for gaming it is a hell of a lot more reliable and in some cases faster.

Desktops generally don’t come wireless as standard. But I know for fact you can pick up a wireless usb adapter for around £20 as I have done so myself.

There are many ways to find out if your pc has Wifi, look at the pc specs which should say it supports wifi 11b/g but its always better to get a External USB wifi key which is cheap and good and they are called WIRELESS WIFI USB 2.0 LAN ADAPTER 802.11G (fastest)

If your computer is Wireless enabled, there would normally be a blue light with a 3 flag symble. There will also be an icon with a similar symble in the notification area (which you can click to adjust settings). You can also check on System > Device Manager. Also if you go to Network Sharing Centre, there is a link to Manage Wireless Networks.

As well as a Wireless Adapter, mentioned by the other guys, you may also be able to use your mobile phone to give you a connection to the inernet. I find this useful occasionally, when our local Wireless Router has occasional problems
