Several ways to speed up your computer.

    1. Get a faster processor
    2. Increase the amount of RAM
    3. Do a virus scan
    4. Reinstall the operating system (only needs to be done when everything else fails)

Well there are many ways. One way is too try to delete some programs that you don’t need so that way there is more memory on the computer. Another is by trying to get more ram ( Random Access Memory) Which is like memory to help run your computer. For windows XP 1gb will do you alot. Or you could always get a faster processor such as a intel core 2 duo. Which is what i have and it runs quite fast. I can multitask and do many things at once with out having to slow down. Also you said that your internet is slow. Maybe it’s your internet speed. So call your Internet Service Provider and mabe ask if thy have a faster speed for you. Plus if you have a rounter soemtimes it’s time to get a new one, but if you have a laptop try getting an adapter which will boost your speed. But if it were me I’d try deleting some stuuf i don’t need off the computr first and see what happends. If that doesn’t work than try thr other thing. Hope this helps.

    Defragment- start–>programs–>accessories–>system tools–>disk defragmenter

    ccleaner- http://www.ccleaner.com

Also do the antivirus and spyware scans.

Start>>Programs>>Startup. Right-click and delete everything in there. In rare cases, there might need to be something in there (like if you are using software that authenticates with a license server. this would need to run at startup so you would be able to use the software. Most other stuff is pretty pointless). The more things you have running at startup, the slower it will load. To dig a little deeper, go to Start>>Run. Type msconfig (if you’re using windows xp). Go to the Startup tab. Uncheck the boxes for stuff that looks useless. There will be some stuff that you won’t recognize. If you’re not sure, leave it alone. If it says “C:program files…” under Command, there’s a good chance you can scrap it. You won’t mess anything up horribly if you uncheck something that you shouldn’t. It will ask you to reboot when you make changes. After the boot a screen will come up telling you that you made changes. If everything seems okay, just check “Don’t Show again” (or whatever it says) and hit OK.

Also, you might want to Run anti spyware and anti virus programs. I like Ad-aware and Spybot for spyware removal. The two work well in conjunction with each other. For antivirus, you can get Antivir, a free antivirus program. And it works pretty dang good (screw mcafee – they’re in a slump right now). Doing these things might help out your internet connection.

To make the computer faster beyond this, you might want to do some hardware upgrades. Memory prices are very good right now, so you might consider buying some more memory. It’s an easy upgrade, after you figure out want kind your comptuer requires… But you can never have too much ram (as much as the computer will hold, at least).

Beyond that, it might be time for a new computer.

Run an antivirus and antispyware, like Adaware and Spybot S&D (one by one, not all of them at the same time) and a program like Tune Up Utilities.
Also defragmenting your HDD will help.

Ok First dont listen to the other answers Dont get me wrong there not bad but theres better ways to do this and You dont have to reinstall you roperating system unless your system wont boot.Go to start>Run Type Prefetch then hit enter a window will open then press ctrl+A everything in the prefetch windows should turn blue highlited Now Press Ctrl+D you might get a conformationg asking if you are sure you want to delete these xxxx items click yes then after there all gone close that window and right click the recyclew bin select properties then move the slider bar all the way to the left so that there is no disk space taken by it.Click Apply then Ok.Now Lets Go to Start>All Programs>Accesories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup Chose the C: dorve then click yes to any warnings/Conformations check all boxes when the disk cleanup window opens.Ok Now lets Go to The Start>Run>Msconfig>startup>Uncheck anything thats not a firewall anti virus/spyware sound drive Etc Anything you need to run your computer properly then click apply>Close it will ask to restart the computer go ahead and restart it.When it starts booting right away pres F8 untill you get a screnn that has a list of options boot in to safe mode after your in the system lets go to Start>All Programs>Accesories>System Tools>Disk Defragment Then Select The C: Drive to defrag this will take a while depending upon the size of the Harddrive Very important do not use the computer while it is running defrag. After it competes if it show any more dirve letters Like D: E: Etc defrag those to and after all complete restart the system like you would normally. After everything loads A window will pop up saying you have used the system config tool check the box and click ok.NOW YOUR READY TO GO. If it is still slow after all this work please feel free to contact me at my email addres anytime [email protected]

Update and run Adaware and Spybot to flush out any malware besides your usual virus scan. How much RAM do you have? An upgrade might help. It might also just be a fragmented drive thats retarding the speed. High levels can make the PC run slow and also lead to all kinds of stability issues. If you have less than 15% free space, it might be a problem to defrag with the built in, although some commercial tools manage with far lesser free space. You can google for some trial versions. Run diskcleanup,( or else download CCleaner) to delete temp files, recycle bin files etc., uninstall unwanted programs and also run chkdsk. Reduce the number of items on ur startup list to reduce load time.

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause “computer slow”.
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you’ve installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it’s Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically! It even can speed up your computer by 300% or more!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

I have been seeking this info for a long time. Almost 2 hours of online finding, fortunately I saw it in your website. I wonder why Alexa never show this sort of useful websites in the top of the list. Generally the top search engine results are full of garbages. Maybe it is time to change to other search engine.
