are you connected with a cable or wireless?
if your connecting using wireless from the laptop and you have a wireless card in the desktop, go to the laptop en open network sharing center. choose to set up a new network. follow the prompts. then on the desktop just look for the signal and connect to it. put in the password and there you go.
if you hard wired, make sure the cable is a crossover cable. hold the end-connectors side by side and see if you can see the colors of the wires inside. the colors should be in a different order on the two.
then connect the two pc’s with the cable. open network and sharing center and choose the wizard to set up a new network. follow the prompts and there you go.

If you forgot a Windows user password, you can log on as an administrator to reset the password. Follow this:
1) Restart the computer.
2) Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE twice, then type the name of the administrator user account.
3) Type the administrator password in the password box, and then click OK.
4) Click START ->> RUN ->> Type ‘control userpasswords2’ ->> click OK.
5) On the Users tab, click the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and then click Reset Password.
6) Type a new password in the New password box, and then type the password again in the Confirm new password box, and then click OK.
7) Restart the computer, and then try to log on to Windows again.
If you lost the only one administrator account, you can use a Windows password recovery tool to reset your Windows password. Windows Password recovery too 3.0 can manage it well within minutes, its easy to use with Graphical User Interface, and supports for Windows 2000, NT, XP, Vista, Server 2003/2008, or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit).

So, you may find that they’re just what you’ve been waiting for. The age of the laptop is here, don’t be left behind. Thank You ;).
