Is it possible to activate XP in a new PC after deleting the previously activated installation?

I bought Windows XP a year ago and installed it on my desktop pc and activated it.. But recently, I removed the XP installation from the desktop and installed windows 7 instead. Now my question is that since XP can be activated for one pc, if I installed XP on my Laptop would I be able to activate it putting in mind that my desktop no more uses XP?

Yes for Windows XP retail version, no (at least illegal) for OEM version.

yes is it and if u have any problems just call Microsoft and its not illegal to install oem version again because my friends laptop broke so i used his old key and Microsoft said it was fine.

Yes it is possible and quite legally as well. During the activation process you will most likely be prompted to contact Microsoft by phone to speak to a representative. Explain that you have made significant Hardware changes and they will give you an activation code to enter. I know this process works as I have done it myself.
