List of things we can do to speed up slow computer?
I’ve been charged with putting together a list of some simple (or less then simple) things our users can do when their computers are running slow, *before* they call our IT staff and put in a work order.
Whoever comes up with the best list gets the points!

1. Run fewer apps simultaneously.
2. Uninstall memory hogs that you don’t use (this might require IT intervention or specific recommendations)
3. Restart your computer daily and whenever it starts to slow down noticeably.

Adding memory will sure speed your PC …
Delete some unnecessary programs that runs in your startup …

eh… since i’m a linux user i’d suggest you to use xubuntu linux and get rid of windows.
of course to be more realistic….
1) scan, defragment partition(s)
2) the slowness of your PC might be caused by adware or virus. do a virus and adware scan. i suggest adaware 2007 for adware scan. it can dramatically improve speed in some cases.
3) reinstall windows. it corrupts every once a while

Basic maintenance..
Disc Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter.. possible registry cleaner (Ace Utilities).
And when the users are done with their computers, turn them off. Leaving a computer on over night is bad, its called Idle time. Too much Idle time can ruin a processor.
Other than basic maintenance; some upgrades can’t hurt. Possibly more RAM?

Scan ur pc with antivirus, and update it regularly, viruses slows downs the pc.
Uninstal unnecessary program.
Stop the unnecessay processes,
Use the task managr to stop processes
upgrading ram is one of the best method, becos it increases cache memory
