What will a PC choose to connect to the internet if there are two options?
My PC is running XP and has been connected wireless to the internet. I am going to run a network cable from the same router. How do I tell the PC to use the cable rather than the wireless connection?

Just disable the wireless LAN connection under your network options.
or turn the switch off on your laptop(provided this is a laptop)

I have both running and this gives me an even faster speeds, so I say do not disable the Wireless connection, just add the RJ45 and make sure your port is active.

you can disable to wireless. here is how you go by doing so
click start and go to Control Panel
click on Hardware and Sound
you will see a Device Manager.
click on that and look for the wireless that you are using. once found click on it and it will open a window, look for Disable Device.
