How do I protect my Pc from people taking information from my Usb port?

Can I protect my Pc by asking for a password when someone wants to copy stuff off my pc using the usb ports? How do I set that up?

You can do that in most GNU/Linux distributions, simply disable user level mount of USB devices, in Ubuntu you can take away the user’s ability to automatically mount external devices by editing the user’s properties.

If you are using Windows i can’t help you.
