How do I get wireless internet onto my old pc?

I have set up the wireless router in my living room and the laptops pick up on it fine but I have an old PC (2001) which won’t pick up on it.

Do I need a PCI card? Is it an ethernet or wireless LAN card i need?

I would not be able to hook the PC up to the router. It is too far away.

You need to buy a Wireless Network Interface Card (Wireless NIC).

Install it to your computer, then try to pick up the signal. Put your laptop next to your PC and if it picks up the signal, your PC would pick up the signal too.

You could also go for a USB dongle option, but I would go with the PCI version also.
