How can I establish a WiFi internet connection using a USB modem and a wireless router?

I use a USB modem to connect to the internet on my desktop computer. Would it be possible to configure a wireless router on my desktop to broadcast WiFi for my laptop or Wii using the USB modem’s internet connection?

If so, could you explain how in simple terms or point me to a website that could help me?

At the end it will give you a 16 digit number that you will have to write down. This is your network key that you will need to enter in the computer that you are adding to the wireless network.
